Sponge

The Sponge is a unique block with the ability to absorb water around it, clearing the area of liquid up to seven blocks distance in all directions. Once it soaks up water, it becomes a wet sponge, which can be dried out in a furnace or the Nether, allowing for reuse. Players often utilize sponges in construction and exploration to remove water from structures, such as underwater ruins or during the creation of underwater bases.
